Salmon Fly Casting and Salmon FishingAGAIN IN 2010 - ATLANTIC SALMON FLY FISHING ADVENTURE, MIRAMICHI RIVER, NEW BRUNSWICK, CANADA.
CLICK HERE FOR DETAILS. Salmon Fly Casting and Fishing Tuition on the River Taw.
Learn the art of Overhead and Spey casting with a double handed salmon fly rod and fish for salmon on the River Taw, one of the finest Salmon and Sea Trout rivers in the West Country. Various beats on this river offer the opportunity to learn to cast and fish for salmon with a double handed fly rod. Beginners to advanced level tuition covers the range of casts which are used with a double handed fly rod, the reasons for using the various casts and how to determine which cast is appropriate for various situations and conditions. The beats we fish are above Umberleigh. The Woolhanger beat consists of 2 miles of double bank fishing which is limited to a total of four rods. Other beats are available. All of these beats produce both salmon and sea trout, the best times for salmon being March to end of June and September. Large sea trout are also present in the early part of the season and the school fish showing from July onwards. Weather conditions, as always, affect the actual timing but the above are usually accurate.
There are a variety of local accommodations ranging from B&B, pubs and self catering. Self catering accommodation is available adjacent to the higher beat comprising a once working mill which has been sympathetically converted. It is located a couple of minutes walk away from the fishing. This cottage can be booked either for a weekend (pm Friday to am Monday) or a weekday (pm Monday to am Friday) during low holiday seasons. There are several local pubs nearby which provide mid-day and evening meals. In addition to individual and group tuition days, we run residential salmon casting and fishing courses for groups of 4 fishermen with accommodation included. Accommodation will be in the Old Mill House with breakfast provided and other meals (cost not included) taken at local restaurant/pubs.
