River Fishing

Fish for Salmon, Sea Trout and Brown Trout on our North Devon Rivers.

Guided fly fishing with tuition can be arranged on the rivers Taw, Mole, Bray and Lyn to fish for salmon, sea trout and wild brown trout throughout the season. We have access to various exclusive river beats and can provide tuition and guiding in a secluded and peaceful environment

The brown trout are wild fish with sizes varying from an average of about 8 inches up to 12 to 14 inches. Capture of a wild fish this size on light tackle is an experience to remember.

Learn how to read the river and identify the best fish holding locations. Learn the necessary fly casting techniques to successfully present a fly to the fish. The fly casting techniques you will learn and use will include slack line and curved casts as well as spey casts to reach those difficult lies which often hold the best fish.

Salmon and sea trout run into these rivers and advice is available on the best times and conditions to expect these fish. These rivers provide quality salmon and sea trout fishing with many double figure fish caught each season. We teach fly casting with single and double handed rods when fishing for salmon and sea trout

Suitable tackle, including waders, can be provided if required

We practice catch and release for all wild brown trout. Our digital camera ensures you have a "trophy" to return home with.

Bryan Martin has fly fished for Salmon, Trout and Sea Trout in the UK,Ireland and Canada for over 30 years. He is a member of the Game Angling Instructors Association, is an Advanced Professional Game Angling Instructor (APGAI - Salmon, Trout and Sea Trout) and has the Salmon and Trout Association National Instructors Certificate (STANIC - Salmon and Trout Fishing and Fly Dressing). He is also an L2CCA licensed angling coach in these disciplines.
